New Sports Site for DHS
Welcome to the brand new Darfield High School Sports page. The idea of a sports website was brought up at the annual Prefect leadership camp for 2017 Prefects. We all agreed that creating a website would be a great way to advertise sporting success and opportunities at Darfield. Therefore, following the camp a group of four students, along with Mr Bell, set out to design a website ready to be launched at the beginning of 2017. While students were signing out of school, some for the last time, the group was working hard on this website. Up until the very last day of junior prize giving, the team was working to ensure that everything will be sorted and ready by mid-January.
Now launched, we believe that while the site still needs some development, it is ready for the world to see. We couldn’t be prouder of how this website looks and can’t wait for students, parents and the community to browse sport.darfield.school.nz.
The student-led team aims to keep the website up to date with results, draws, photos and news throughout the year. For students, this should be the first place to go to when looking for game information or cancellation. Parents, should be able to browse the gallery, finding photos of their children they previously may never have seen. The people of the community should be able to see the development and success of our athletes.
Finally, Darfield High School Sport would like the thank Mathew Blain for his support when creating this website. Despite finishing Darfield High School at the end of 2016, Mathew offered his time and service to build this website. Thank you to Rosa and Rachel who were also involved in the creation of the website. Lastly, thank you to Mr Bell, who worked endlessly on sourcing information, writing articles and setting up documents. Nothing could have been done without his support.
