The Darfield High School Hockey teams have been very strong over the past few years. The Boys team has won the 2015 and 2016 Canterbury Secondary Schools Tournament and placed 3rd at the 2016 Coaches Cup during Tournament Week. Our teams encourage new players to give it a go and be a part of a team environment. In 2016, the Boys team had 8 new players, most of which were more comfortable with a rugby ball rather than a hockey one at the beginning of the season. Hockey players at Darfield High School do have a lot of fun but there is an expectation of commitment and communication.

Signup: Wednesday Feb 1 st 2017 (Week 1) at the start of Lunch in G3 - Notices will be given out with a calendar of training and fixture dates.

Training: Takes place weekly (usually on a day which does not clash with other commitments e.g. a Thursday or Monday). Practices will also depend on when the coach can make it. Weekly fitness sessions (if needed) will be on Monday Lunch Times weekly.

Ordering of team training shirts: Monday of Week 2, Term 1 at lunch time (new members only).

• Term 2 and 3, Winter Canterbury Schools Competition.
• 3 - 8 August, Coaches Cup @ Westport.
