Netball
Netball is one of the largest sports at Darfield High School with over seven teams playing in the Wednesday Canterbury Secondary Schools Winter Competition in Christchurch and Canterbury Primary Schools Thursday Competition. In recent years, the sport has significantly grown and developed with a larger number of students wishing to play netball for the school. Our Senior A netball team has improved significantly by having the opportunity to play together on both Wednesday and Saturday under the West Melton Netball Club umbrella. In 2017, the team will aim to improve their standing at SISS from 7th out of 32 in Christchurch during the annual Winter Tournament Week. We encourage any students interested to trial and play for school this year.

Indoor Netball
There hasn’t been a team entered in the Summer Competition since 2015. However, the school has previously been very successful in this competition. A team of eight or nine girls were unbeaten in the four seasons they played and in their final season won the highest grade in the Canterbury Schools Competition. In 2016, five of the nine members were in the Senior A team.
Signup: See Mrs Armstrong or Caitlin Soal at the beginning of Term 1.
Grades: Mixed, Boys-only and Girls-only (numbers dependent).
2017 Competitions:
- Canterbury Secondary Schools Term 1 Competition.
- Canterbury Secondary Schools Term 4 Competition.
